CHAMPAIGN -- Illinois football coach Tim Beckman says he's hired Jim Bridge as offensive line coach.

The Illini have named former North Carolina State assistant Jim Bridge their new offensive line coach, replacing the departed Luke Butkus.

Jim Bridge, an assistant at North Carolina State the last six seasons, has been named offensive line coach at Illinois. His hiring was announced Wednesday by Illini head coach Tim Beckman.   Bridge served as offensive line coach the past two seasons at N.C. State after he coached tight ends the previous four years.
