Galesburg Railroad Museum

The museum houses an extensive collection of railroad memorabilia in a 1923 Pullman parlor car. Retired railroaders staff the museum to conduct tours, answer questions, and tell stories of this era.

Historic Pullman Foundation Visitor Center

The Visitor Center has an exhibit on Pullman the man and Pullman the company, which were responsible for the town, the rail cars and the famous Pullman Strike of 1894. Photos, news clippings, old magazines and artifacts (such as silverware and dinnerware) from inside the splendid cars--state of the art in railroad luxury--are on display.

Monticello Railway Museum

The museum offers trains rides on weekends and Holidays from May through October. Rail cars are used for displays, allowing visitors to view the interior of these cars and the exhibits within them. Camp Creek Yard is an operational railroad yard open to the public for viewing of additional railroad equipment stored outside. Shop buildings, used to restore and maintain our equipment, may also be toured with permission from a museum volunteer.

Union Depot Railroad Museum

The Union Depot Railroad Museum recognizes the influence of the railroad to the Mendota area. Located in the restored portion of the 1886 depot and includes replicas of Crossing Gate Towers, large HO scale layout depicting Mendota in late 1930s early 1940s, Southern Pacific Golden Trencher dining/lounge car, Memorabilia from Burlington, Illinois Central, Milwaukee Railroads & Amtrak, 1900 telegraph office, and Railroad Photographs. A great viewing point for train watching is situated next to tracks.
